Your Management Career Path Begins Here!
Due to our expansion plans, we’ve recently created our Director Trainee Program. We need to train and develop qualified individuals to fill Center Director and Curriculum Specialist positions. If you are qualified, energetic, confident and ready to pursue a career with Doodle Bugs!, we encourage you apply to our program.
Here’s how it works:
You must qualify.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or working towards your degree) in Education or related field. If your degree is not in Early Childhood, you would need to obtain 9 credit hours in Early Childhood Education before becoming a Center Director.
You must interview and be selected.
Our administrative team will interview candidates individually and alongside other candidates. Don’t worry - our panel interviews are fun and candidates enjoy the no-stress, easy conversation.
We will select a handful of candidates to enter our program several times per year. You will begin attending Director Trainee learning classes as a group.
Once you are selected, you would work through these steps:
Step 1: You would work as a classroom Lead Teacher for 3-12 months. You would attend Director Trainee learning classes while working in this Lead Teacher role. The length of time depends on your experience and success in the classroom.
Step 2: Your position would change to Center Assistant for 3-12 months. Our Center Assistants are responsible for opening or closing the center, providing customer service and assisting the Center Director with daily tasks. You would continue attending Director Trainee learning classes while working in this role.
Step 3: Your progress would be evaluated with company administrators and a career path of either Center Director or Curriculum Specialist would be determined by both you and the administrative team.
Center Director Path: Step 4: Your position would change to Director Trainee for 6 months and you would work alongside a Center Director at an existing Doodle Bugs! center.
Step 5: As Director Trainee you would assist a Center Director in opening and operating a new Doodle Bugs! center. The length of time depends on your experience and success in this role.
Step 6: Your position would change to Center Director and you would open your own Doodle Bugs! center.
Curriculum Specialist Path: Step 4: Your position would change to Assistant Curriculum Specialist and you would work alongside an Education Director at several Doodle Bugs! centers. The length of time depends on your experience and success in this role.
Step 5: Your position would change to Curriculum Specialist and you would be assigned to several Doodle Bugs! centers.
While there appears to be many steps involved, a Director can be fully trained in as little as 15-18 months. Each milestone provides the candidate with the knowledge of the “Doodle Way” and the confidence to succeed.
